We definitely need more info on the last fight when someone can explain it. There is some sort of function of the fake adds that spawn that get light blue auras around them, and when they die they drop crystals, and you can target an enemy and click the crystals. There is also some mechanic that seemingly deathtouches PCs, but im not sure what about the event makes that happen.
Bring a tracker with you on this event! everything seems to spawn anywhere it wants in a very wide area in that zone!

The mobs with blue auras under them are fake, you aren't supposed to kill those, killing a fake one I think is what is a penalty that DTs people

Ok, just completed this. The mission is recoverable from wipes. If the coldains die, it's still not a fail.

On the last guy, when he splits, it seems you need to drop their hp down,if the blue circle appears, you need to switch to a new one until you get one that the blue doesn't happen.

I wiped a lot.

Thank you for the reply. Does this mean if you dont kill them, they will despawn? as we kept killing all the adds, clicking the crystals, and getting the main lower hp, more waves, with more duplicates would spawn. it got really difficult at the end to see visually which ones had the blue aura and which didnt, but they have dramatically less hp, so get killed alot faster. if you dont kill any of them, will you not get larger numbers of spawns in the future? will the original 2 or 3 stay up the whole time? and if you do accidentally kill them, what is the point of the crystal that they drop?

When you DPS the right one down or kill it the fake ones de-pop and he reforms in his regular form, then repeat this like 3 or 4 times I think during the fight

The last fight
Best to kill the dire wolf first each wave including the last one.
Pull the mob onto the ice so you can easily see the blue circles appear.
You can engage the last giant like normal until it splits. No need to burn anywhere in this fight.
When it splits, it will split into four giants all named the same. One is real the other three are fake. Pick one and fight it.
IF that mob gets a blue circle underneath its feet it is NOT the real Giant. Attack off that mob and attack the next. Keep doing this until you find a mob that doesnt get a blue circle under its feet.
You can get lucky. If you attack the real boss it never will get a blue circle. Neither will the other mobs if you dont damage them too much.
It will split three times.
If you kill the wrong mob you will get DT on at least one toon.

My experience with the last fight. He splits into 4, a number of times during the fight. If i remember correctly once at around 90%, once at around 50%, and again at around 20%. these aren't precise, i'm sorry.
When he splits you pick one and dps it down to around 65%, at this point he MAY get a small blue aura. If he does switch to another immediately. If you don't get a small blue aura, kill it and repop the main mob.
If you see the small blue aura and keep DPSing, it turns into a large blue aura making it VERY difficult to see auras from the other mobs. If you kill a mob with a blue aura, it will DT your group.
If you dps aura mobs past the point in which they show you the aura and don't kill them, once they regen they will NOT show you an aura again. For instance if you kill and aura mob and get DTed, then maybe someone survives and kites them until you can reengage. All the mobs that had been DPSed far enough to show an aura will not show an aura again. At this point its pure luck as far as you getting the right one.

If you always kill the right split version of the final boss you will get the achievement Zero Tolerance.  We have a SK that is an expert in this mission, he mentions that he hits them with an AE as they spawn so that they don't get too close together.  Also, the more you back up, the closer they get.  Punting doesn't work, as they will summon the tank.

For Huntmaster Grondo, you can burn him down and get fewer adds.  Seen it done and he only spawned 4 adds, seen it another time and he spawned 8 so go figure.

Notes-

It's in your best interest to get started promptly.  Nameds are not contingent on killing the previous one, they will just keep spawning at their set intervals, which can make things more complicated.

For Huntmaster - burns were down, tried it anyways.  Looked good, had 4 adds...then 12?!  Wiped at 7%.  Regrouped, peeled off the wolf adds 1-2-3 at a time, need a decent distance but snare/split works fine.  Killed all 12 wolf adds, reengaged named, smooth burn.  Never spawned any further wolves.

Chest won't spawn until every mob in the zone is dead.  Regardless of the coldain living/dying, I needed to finish off 2 wolves I had left up previously to get the quest to update and chest to spawn.
