Camp in the hallway at the top of the ramp. Kill the Dogs (Chokidai) in the large area to the west of the ramp as they appear to assist him as adds, including Deathfang if he is up, so best to clear as many as those as you can. I killed all but the one that was in the side room with the table in it, and I only had 1 add.
