Getting an initial slow in is so tempting though it will land for 5 seconds before he cures it. Much damage can be lost trying to land that slow, and causes a lot of frustration while trying to keep warder up. Get the warder ready, get yourself ready to eat dots, bandolier whatever style is needed to keep yourself up, using Warder's gift in a pinch, in an emergency drop off and f1 target yourself and heal, rotating companion's aegis and self-heal, if needed throw the pet heal in in between self healing. Damage over time rarely stick and waste a lot of resources,
