Our Sponsor and friends over at Timber & Twine have been kind enough to gift us enough EverQuest inspired products to run contests every 2 weeks for the remainder of 2024!

They've asked us to spread the word that at the end of 2024 they will be discontinuing their Wooden LED Sign line of products to focus on creating new EQ inspired items.  Starting in 2025 they will no longer offer the Wooden LED Sign products - don't miss your opportunity to get one of these if you've been waiting!  For the remainder of 2024 you can use promo code EQRESOURCE at checkout for 10% off your entire order

EQResource Contest -  Bard Class Coasters

This is a very special contest!  We have been given a complete set of prototype Bard Class coasters to give away!  Timber & Twine has been busy designing new EverQuest inspired merchandise, and these Class coaster sets are one of their upcoming products!  Please note that this set is a prototype set and will not be the same as the finalized products.  Be on the look out for these new products in their Etsy store around early November!

For this contest we would like to know - what is your favorite NPC in EverQuest?  What is it about the NPC that makes it your favorite?  Was it the first raid boss you defeated with your guild, or perhaps a quest NPC that helped you out along your journeys? Tell us as much as you would like to!  This is a simple post to win contest, so you can post as much or as little as you'd like.  Your odds of winning remain the same regardless of how much or how little you post - but it's more fun if we get all the details!

The Rules -

- Due to us having to pay for physical shipping of rewards, this contest is only open to folks in the U.S. Sorry!
- Your entry should be a reply to the contest thread.
- Write as much or as little as you like.
- Only one entry per person, per contest.
- At the end of the contest all entries will be numbered and a winner will be chosen at random.
- The contest ends on October 20th at 11:59pm Pacific, and a winner will be announced by October 23rd.

The Prize -

(1) Prototype Bard Class Coaster Set of 4.  Note: This is a prototype of a new, unreleased product line from Timber & Twine.

What I loved about Nagafen wasn't just how tough he was, but the whole experience. He was my first raid battle, and I remember how much coordination and strategy it took to defeat him. We wiped the first few tries, but when we finally took killed him, it felt like such a huge achievement. The loot was great, but honestly, it was more about that feeling of victory and working with my guildmates.

The skeletons from what I think was a Halloween event? Maybe it was an anniversary event. I can't remember the exact name. It's just a memory I'll never forget. They made these HUGE red skeletons that roamed East Commonlands. I remember the gear being really amazing for my level. I just thought they was really cool when I was young. I don't think they've ever repeated this since. Googling it finds nothing sadly. It's just a memory in my head, but I remember having so much fun! I feel like they also released raid target versions too near the pyramids in Dreadlands. Makes me think more anniversary event.

Sirene

My favorite NPC is Niblek in Chardok.

Niblek says, 'I much happy now! I want shiny tings for long time! I give you ugly broken necklace now!'

Thanks for everything you do for the EQ community :)

Abazzagorath

Cros Treewind, from Qeynos Hills. I think its my favorite because of the storyline being so interesting, and a permanent change to the game by him being sacrificed and removed from the game.

Brickhaus

My favorite NPC in the game is Equestrielle the Corrupted (pre-nerf version ... who was really vicious for level ... near half zone wide aggro) ... but not for an obvious reason.

When I was just starting out in Everquest back in 2002, my druid in the 20s ventured into Lesser Faydark. And was promptly ran over by Equestrielle somewhere in the middle of the zone. Since your gear remained on your corpse back then, I went to go retrieve it ... and was run over again. This happened for at least 15 more deaths (several levels lost). And I still couldn't find my primary corpse. Needless to say, the despair was real and I was about to quit, possibly forever.

Coming out of the bank in Felwithe, I met a high level cleric who took pity on me after hearing my sob story. She went and killed the bad unicorn and managed to find most of my corpses for xp rezzes (including my first one). And then I followed her back to the bank where she gave me some shiny new gear, much better than I had previously. I was down some experience after all that ... but had some great new gear, wonderful buffs and a new friend in the game.

If it wasn't for Equestrielle, I might not have experienced the lowest lows you get in Everquest ... and the highest highs from interacting with other players in the game early in my EQ career. And those are why I still devote so much time and effort to a 25+ game. So I thank Equestrielle by going by and killing her every so often when feeling nostalgic.

Mooshiee

Emperor Crush
That bad orc that terrorized my homeland of Kelethin, if I didn't die from falling first.  Thankfully, Songweaver's Bard Guild trained me well on how to safe fall.

Strumph

Thinking back to my early days of playing and Stormfeather comes to mind. I remember staying up all night and my wife popping into the office on her way to work. Luckily my wife played, so she wasn't mad just concerned that it'd take forever for her to get her drop also  :D He did spawn shortly after she left. I don't remember it being an issue when she camped him.

kirkisx

my box is a bard i love boxing the bard i also love singing everywhere i go on my stream on my game while im driving

pharaldson

My favorite NPC is Nexus Scion in Greater Faydark. Up until the release of Luclin I was pretty young and playing still, spending most of my time as a wood elf bard in greater faydark, crushbone, and if I was feeling adventurous I would meander to Unrest.

The Nexus Scion was the first to open a gateway to a new world that sucked me in and made me continue to play until this day. I will forever be grateful for her!
