Our Sponsor and friends over at Timber & Twine have been kind enough to gift us enough EverQuest inspired products to run contests every 2 weeks for the remainder of 2024!

They've asked us to spread the word that at the end of 2024 they will be discontinuing their wooden sign line of products to focus on creating new EQ inspired items.  Starting in 2025 they will no longer offer the Wooden LED Sign products - don't miss your opportunity to get one of these if you've been waiting!  For the remainder of 2024 you can use promo code EQRESOURCE at checkout for 10% off your entire order

EQResource Sign Giveaway - Enchanter Wooden Sign

For this contest we would like to know what your favorite item in EverQuest is.  It can be any item, new or old, obtainable or unobtainable.  We would love to hear why the item you chose is your favorite?  What is the history of the item?  When/where did you first learn about the item?  This is a simple post to win contest, so you can post as much or as little as you'd like.  Your odds of winning remain the same regardless of how much or how little you post - but it's more fun if we get all the details!

The Rules -

- Due to us having to pay for physical shipping of rewards, this contest is only open to folks in the U.S. Sorry!
- Your entry should be a reply to the contest thread.
- Write as much or as little as you like.
- Only one entry per person, per contest.
- At the end of the contest all entries will be numbered and a winner will be chosen at random.
- The contest ends on September 8th at 11:59pm Pacific, and a winner will be announced by September 12th.

This contest is sponsored by Timber & Twine!  Be sure to check out their Etsy shop!

My favorite EverQuest item is the Can o' Whoop Ass.

I love this item because it is sort of a legendary item that is unobtainable - and of course because the name is a bit inappropriate for a family friendly game!  I started playing in 2004 and have never seen this item in game.  I remember reading somewhere that it was given out by Game Masters for a very short time, but I can't verify this.

If you've been around here very long you've probably discovered placeholder links that link to this item on pages that are under construction / new content being built.  I love to use this items link as an item link placeholder while building content.

Cassilla

I love playing my Chanter.  I have only been playing since 2010 when my husband got me started, but I quickly learned to love this class!.  I have tried others and just don't get the same enjoyment from playing them.  As far as I am concerned it is the most versitile class - just needs more dps.  ;D

Medimus

Favorite?  Can I claim two three?  ;)

If we're talking enchanter items I'm going with the Unearthed Belt (and my apologies, I don't see how to turn that into an EQResource link...).  MUCH faster than BDB or Mem Blur when a pull brings that unseen additional mob with him.  Watching that assisting mob stop dead in his tracks, turn around, and simply walk away just never gets old.  Sure, it's totally useless now other than that effect, especially with raid gear pieces having around 20 times the stats.  But that clicky effect?  Just plain fun.

But a favorite for another reason would be one that I got for my old druid more years ago than I really want to admit (have I REALLY been playing this game for a quarter century?).  He was my first real toon, and the Paw of Opolla was the first "serious" quest I did in EQ, at least the first one this old mind remembers.  The stats were AMAZING - 5 mana, for goodness' sake! And 9 wisdom!  Who wouldn't want that!  ;)  I still have it tucked away in the bank, just for memory's sake - although I should probably wrap it in plastic or something.  The bankers are starting to complain about the smell.

[Edited to add:  And my semi-unobtainable Gnomish Troutshocker, for flinging dead fish at my guild's raid leader in return for his evil desire to see the entire guild in large corpse piles...  It was an award for an in-game contest a while back, and I've no idea if they still give them out or not.]

I'm going to break my favorites out into categories.

My favorite weapon appearance is pre-animation nerf Dragonkiller - https://items.eqresource.com/items.php?id=71672.
The whip had such a cool look and I liked the whip animation before they removed it and now it's a sad whip that just stays in the hand.

My favorite armor appearance is an item I requested and gave design input to MasterMagnus and he created in Hero Forge (miss you Hero Forge client) is Bloodthirsty Robe Ornament - https://items.eqresource.com/items.php?id=108956

My favorite item for usability, being an enchanter main, I have to agree with Medimus. The Unearthed belt is great - https://items.eqresource.com/items.php?id=109795

My favorite item name is of course Doljonijiarnimorinar - https://items.eqresource.com/items.php?id=25595

My all-time favorite item is The Timeshear - https://items.eqresource.com/items.php?id=42884
Not necessary for the item itself, but the memories it holds. Seeds of Destruction held some of the best times of my Everquest life. The expansion was massive, had so much to do, it was my entrance to high-end raiding and I have so many fond memories of good times with friends who were alongside me while assembling the Timeshear.

my favorite item in EverQuest has to be Gnomish Troutshocker a GM gave me one so i could place in my house and i cherish it everyday.. its unique and can only be obtained by GM

RDMFLEET

Like everyone else, it's hard to chose just one.
But I will say overall, my favorite item is the original insta-cast Mana Stone.
I have had mine for over 20 yrs now, and still remember how invaluable it was back in the day when we had to run and swim to our dead bodies, doing corpse recovery naked and dodging mobs to get there. I have always played an Enchanter, and once the rezzes were done I could hit that thing a bunch of times and get everyone buffed and back up pretty quick.
I have played EQ for 25 yrs, and still raid weekly with my guild Machin Shin.
I love EQ and hope it never dies. The lore and history and depth make it the best game there has ever been imo.
I would really appreciate being considered for this sign to hang on my office wall where my gaming box and monitors are, it would fit right in my all my memorabilia hanging all over the walls. Things like original maps from the CD box sets, and pictures of raid highlights thoughout the years, various figurines, and lets not forget the ever sexy Firiona Vie lol.
Whomever wins, gratz to you, and I know you will enjoy it what a cool prize !!
And thank you EQ Resource for being the go to site for all of us that play hard and use your site constantly. The site is easy to navigate, has what we need, and has become a staple and must have.
Good luck everyone !!

I've been in EQ since 2001, and my very first character was a ranger, which I still have. I eventually  joined a raiding guild as our original guild went dormant. The new guild was in need of enchanters. So I made one, I had a great mentor who showed me the ropes etc., and she's been my main since then.  I think my proudest first moment was when she got her first set of raid armor, the Romar's set. It made me feel as though I belonged.

Abazzagorath

Fiery Avenger. Still remember seeing the pic of Musk on Everlore using the first one ever completed and being in awe.
